The Bears gained a 4-star commit this afternoon, despite not doing a single thing. With the recently unveiled SCOUT-100 for the 2017 class, previously unranked Kellen Mond broke into the rankings in a big way, picking up 4-stars. He is the 8th highest rated quarterback in the 2017 class and 90th overall in the nation. Mond has great size and frame potential for the quarterback position. With a strong arm and incredibly light feed, he could be one of the best dual threat signal callers in the nation.
Not to be outdone, fellow commit Hezekiah Jones is ranked 47th overall in the nation, and the 7th best wide receiver. Jones, with tremendous speed and after the catch abilities is the top wide receiver in the state.
With the two Top-100 commits, the Bears are off to a tremendous start in the 2017 class. Only 18 of the Top-100 are committed, with Florida State leading the way with 4 Top-100 commitments. Ohio State follows with 3, and Baylor is next with 2. The rest of the Big 12 has 3 total, with TCU, Texas and Oklahoma each having commitment.
