“She’s the reason all this stuff happens, like the Baylor offer at camp,” Ausbon admitted. “I didn’t want to go to the camp and she pushed me to go. I really give all my offers to her, because she’s the reason I have them.”
The six-foot-three, 260-pound athlete from Houston (TX) St. Thomas HS took another visit up to Waco, TX yesterday where he got to visit the stadium again, as well as view the new nutrition facility, while hanging out with guys like Corey Coleman, Jay Lee, and KD Cannon.
“They are all great people,” Ausbon said. “That’s why I really committed, because I went around to different colleges and the atmosphere is different. They are way better than any other coaches. They are going to take care of you.”
As commitments were happening around him, Baylor seemed to have the whole package for Ausbon and his mom and the coaches and academics seemed to be the main focus.
“My mom really loved the academics side of it,” Ausbon said. “I do everything for her, so we talked about it and she was happy and comfortable with the decision.”
Along with the exceptional coaches and academics, add getting to play alongside your childhood friends and it can’t get any better than that. Ausbon has grown up with 2017 WR commit, Hezekiah Jones, as well as 2017 Safety commit, Donovan Stiner, and while the class is off to an excellent start, Ausbon says there are a couple of key pieces they will continue to recruit.
“Marvin (Marvin Wilson) and Walker (Walker Little),” Ausbon said. “I’m especially trying to recruit them. Me, Hez, and Donovan live next to Walker. Walker came to Baylor yesterday and he liked it so we will see.”
Ausbon says he is 100% committed to Baylor, and with 5 commitments to the 2017 class it is safe to say this is the best start to any class the Bears have previously had.
