Currently the Bears have 4 commits in the Scout 100, 1 commit in the Scout 300, and 1 just outside of the Scout 300. Browning, a 6'3, 226 lb OLB from Kennedale (TX) HS, is the current jewel of the class as he is ranked #50 overall, and #1 in the Country, Midlands Region, and the State.
"I felt like Baylor was the best fit for me, defensive wise and scheme wise," Browning said. "Their strength coach reminded me a lot of my HS strength coach, and I have a good relationship with my position coach (Coach Gush) and he reminded me a lot of coach Littleton, my HS position coach, as well."
Coach Kaz Kazadi and his staff have been looked at as a big selling point for Coach Briles, and his development of Baylor's players physically and athletically, has been very important to the success of the Bears. For Browning this was very important to him. "I noticed their strength coach makes their players big and fast, and honestly a lot of the other schools can only do one or the other. I know they can develop me the right way and help me accomplish the goals I have for myself and Baylor."
Along with Football, Browning knows that it is difficult to make it to the next level and he believes Baylor offers him the opportunity to have a life after football. "Education is very important to me and my parents. Stanford and Duke offered those types of opportunities, along with Baylor, but I didn't see myself fitting in at those places. Baylor offers the full package for me, like getting a job 20 years down the road, like life after football."
With Browning committing, the Bears have set themselves up with a very strong foundation. Kellen Mond and Hezekiah Jones have taken the reigns and have taken the lead recruiting other kids to the Bears. This was something that Browning noticed. "Having them committed played a good role. It showed that we can reload on offense and I felt like I could be the difference maker on defense."
With his commitment out of the way, Browning says that he is 100%. "I just felt like Baylor offered a brand that other schools didn't."
Browning plans to graduate in Dec. 2016 and enroll at Baylor early, in the fall of spring of 2017.
