Bears Basketball Coaches Hit Recruiting Trail

Basketball recruiting is starting to pick up once again, as the Baylor coaches will be out seeing some key recruits this week.

Scott Drew and his staff will be hitting the recruiting trail hard this week, focusing in on some key recruits for the 2016 and 2017 season.  At the top of the list are two Dallas-area recruits.  5-star Center Marques Bolden recently announced a new Top-8, including Baylor, Alabama, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and Wake Forest.  Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew will be seeing the 5-star center, along with Alabama Head Coach Avery Johnson.

Coach Drew is also expected to see rising shooting guard, Andrew Jones.  Recently ranked as the 30th best recruit in the 2016 class, Jones is one of the highest risers from the Summer camps and tournaments.  Coach Drew and Texas Coach Shaka Smart are expected to see the 6-foot-4 shooting guard.  This will be an in-home visit for the Bears, who have had Jones very high up on their list for several months.

With his family in Dallas, and his older sister Alexis Jones expected to star for Kim Mulkey and the Lady Bears, there is a strong family tie to the Baylor program. Jones recently visited Baylor, among many others during a visits spree in August.

We have more details on a few other top-tier recruits and information on some visitors to Waco the past week inside The Bear Pit for premium members.  Also, come inside to find out any visitors for the home opener against Lamar, as the basketball program is expected to have some recruits on campus as well.
