The Baylor Bears have their second commitment for the 2016 class, with 6-foot-9 junior college wing Nuni Omot committed to the Bears Saturday night on his official visit. Omot is a sophomore at Indian Hills Junior College, a place where the Bears have found great success. Current Bear Lester Medford starred for the Indians recently, while past Baylor favorite Terry Black attended Indian Hills before attending Baylor.
Omot signed out of high school with Division II Concordia-St. Paul University, where he averaged 12 points per game and 5 rebounds per contest in around 24 minutes per game. He shot 41.7% from beyond the three-point line and 57.5% overall.He started his college career at 6-foot-6, but continued to grow and is now 6-foot-9.
He chose the Bears over interest from Gonzaga, Colorado State, Cincinnati, and Virginia Tech. He is the second commitment for the 2016 class, joining SCOUT Top-100 forward Mark Vital.
