Kansas State Predictions

The BearsIllustrated staff gives its predictions for the game between the Kansas State Wildcats and the Baylor Bears. The #6 ranked Bears will usher in a new QB and try to keep their unbeaten streak alive in Manhattan tonight.

The Jarrett Stidham era starts tonight for Baylor and it won't be an easy first task for the young signal caller. The former 5-star QB will take the reigns of the explosive Baylor offense and try to extend Baylor's unbeaten streak this year. Kansas State is coming off of a bye week, so it is expected that they will play much better than they have been. The crowd will be in favor of the wildcats, but I fully expect Baylor to quiet the crowd early. The Bears are just too good a team right now, and heading in to a monster 3 game stretch, I think the Bears get a big win in Manhattan.

Look for Briles to help his young play caller gain some confidence early, but then let him loose. Briles said that the offense wouldn't change, nor would his expectations change. Briles fully expects Stidham to take over and the offense to not skip a beat. I also expect this offense to not miss a beat. Bears win big.

The weather will be against the Bears.  The crowd will be against the Bears. The inexperience at QB will be against the Bears. It won't matter.  This is the most talented team of the Art Briles era at Baylor.  There is no doubt in my mind.  Even with a true freshman at quarterback, the Bears have enough talent to win in Manhattan.

I expect the Wildcats to play much better than they have the past two games, simply because their coaching staff is too good to let the bye week go by without improvement. It won't matter.  Baylor wins, and they win big.  49-28, and improve to 8-0 on the year, and head into the monster 3-game stretch that will define their season.
