Baylor vs. TCU Gameday

The Baylor Bears travel to Fort Worth to take on rival TCU. The Bears are looking to win their 10th game of the season, and keep their title hopes alive, while TCU looks to bounce back after a tough loss to Oklahoma.

Another week, another huge game for the Big 12 and the Baylor Bears, as they travel north to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys.  The Cowboys are a perfect 10-0 this year, with two big home games coming up against Baylor and rivel Oklahoma. The Bears lost last week at home to the Sooners, and will be looking to rebound with a big win, and their first in Stillwater since 1939.

Statistical Comparison

The Frogs defense has struggled with big plays all season, and the Bears happen to be the best big play offense in the nation.  Baylor has exploited much better TCU defenses down the field, so Bear fans should expect big plays.  The Frogs defense has improved throughout the season, but is still not nearly at the levels expected from a Gary Patterson led unit.  This has improved from an awful defense to start the year, to simply a below average one.  They are young, inexperienced, and small at lienbacker and safety.  However, if they can force the Bears to throw underneath, TCU has tremendous speed and coverage ability in those areas.

The TCU offense has also taken a step back the past few weeks due to the continued barrage of injuries that have plagued the entire team all year. Without star Josh Doctson to dominate the outside, this is a very different offense.  Add in the loss of Trevone Boykin for the past few games, and they are simply a very average unit.  Doctson will still be out, while Boykin is presumed to be able to play, at least in a limited role.  How limited he is will dictate how dangerous this offense can be, especially agianst a very good Baylor defense against running attacks.

Talk of the Town - Baylor Bears

An inside look at the traditions that make Baylor University great, including the Baylor Line, Baylor Bonfire, and more.

5-Things: Its time for TCU

It isn't the game most were hoping for, but it is still pretty big. The Bears and Frogs will square off Friday night, with one team still holding out hope for a Big 12 championship.

1. It is here. No more excuses or reason to look ahead.  The time is now for the Baylor Bears and the TCU Horned Frogs to meet on the gridiron once again.  We all remember last year, and especially the insanity that insued after that magical October day.  The screams of "61-58" echoed long after the final whistle, to the annoyance of many (including some Baylor fans).

When the schedule was announced for the 2015 football season, this was circled by many as the defacto Big 12 championship game.  The two top teams in the Big 12, meeting on the field in late November. Alas, some schools in Oklahoma decided to wreck the party and change the scene slightly.  The true Big 12 championship is going to be up the road in Stillwater, OK, where the Sooners have a chance to win it all.  A loss by the Sooners would open the door for Baylor, as well as Oklahoma State.

One school that will not be winning the Big 12 is TCU.  Their two losses this year (both on the road to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State) have made sure of that.

The Revivalry is Here - Baylor and TCU

It is time for the Baylor Bears and the TCU Horned Frogs to once again battle on the gridiron. Two team, fanbases, and coaches that do not like each other. This should be FUN.

The time for talk is almost over.  Friday night, the Baylor Bears and the TCU Horned Frogs meet once again on the football field.  It isn't the Top-5 matchup most expected when the schedule was released last year, but it is still a very big game with conference and national title implications.  Balyor (9-1, 6-1) will have to travel north I-35 up to Fort Worth where TCU (9-2, 6-2) looks to bounce back after a tough 3-game stretch that saw them lose to both Oklahoma schools and squeak by winless Kansas.

Taking a look inside Baylor Football and other things...

In this edition of Bear Droppings, we take a look at the CFP, Baylor's 2016 Schedule, a visit with 2017 QB commit Kellen Mond, and a look ahead to Baylor's Friday matchup against TCU.

Baylor Release its 2016 Football Schedule

On Tuesday, Baylor and the Big 12 released the schedules for the 2016 football season. As expected, many took to twitter to ridicule the "weak" non-conference schedule that Baylor has. It's the same old argument used by those who don't believe Baylor belongs in the final 4 of the College Football Playoff.

Frankly, I have no issues with the schedule. I've always believe that maybe Baylor should find some P5 school to play, but you can't say Baylor isn't trying. Baylor had all but locked up a game against California, that would have taken place in Australia to open the 2016 season. Not only is it not happening, but Cal is now playing a weak B1G opponent in Australia.
