Taking a look back at the past week in Baylor recruiting.

As Baylor continues to move through the spring evaluation period, we take a look back at the past week and the recent offers that Baylor has put out.

Delpit A Highly Sought After Prospect

Grant Delpit is a prospect who has seen his recruitment blow up over the past several weeks. The Houston native has offers from the likes of Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas A&M and on and on. Delpit is a ball-hawking safety who has a knack for not only finding the ball, but punishing both receivers and runners who try to attack him. Baylor was in on this prospect early, as Delpit took a visit to Baylor for its Junior Day, in late January. Baylor does seem to have a shot here, as Delpit is close with several of the Houston players committed to Baylor.

Scout Regional Analyst, Gabe Brooks, provides some insight to the type of player Delpit is and includes some junior highlights of the talented safety.

Baylor Offers Top 100 RB Eno Benjamin

Baylor has been very selective in its offers to offensive skill players, and the RB position is no exception. Eno Benjamin is the latest offer on the offensive side of the ball and the Wylie East product is one of the top RBs in the country. Currently, Benjamin is rated as the #99 player in the country, on the Scout100. At the RB position, Benjamin is rated as the #11 RB in the country and the #3 RB in the state. Baylor is currently looking for someone to compliment the signing of Kameron Martin, who was the #1 RB in the state for 2016.

Benjamin burst on to the scene as a sophomore, after posting a 1500 rushing performance at the highest level in high school. This past season, he cemented himself as one of the top RBs in the country, rushing for over 2600 yds and scoring 41 TDs. Baylor is among over 20 schools who have offered the Wylie East product, but Baylor is the first of the top tier Texas schools who have offered Benjamin. Benjamin performed very well at a Baylor camp last summer, and with this offer, Baylor will likely make him a priority of the 2017 class, as they will likely only take one RB.

Earnest Brown IV Bursts On To The Recruiting Scene

With large losses along the defensive line, Baylor has made it a priority going after players along the line. Several of their 2017 offers have gone to both offensive and defensive line recruits and Brown was one of the more recent offers.

Brown has burst on to the recruiting scene, and within a few weeks went from 0 offers to over 20. Brown is currently unranked and a 3 star recruit, on Scout.com, but that is surely to change after the spring evaluation period.

Brown is looking to take visits this spring, and after taking a weekend visit to Northwester, this past weekend, Brown will look to visit the Bears soon. Gabe Brooks caught up with the rising junior to recap his past two visits to Texas and Texas A&M.
