Kary Vincent Jr. a big target for Baylor

The second prospect on Baylor's 2017 wish list is Port Arthur (TX) Memorial CB, Kary Vincent Jr. The dynamic corner has become a big target for Baylor.

As things move in to the spring evaluation period, BearsIllustrated looks at prospects that could become a part of the 2017 Baylor recruiting class.

With 6 commitments on board, Baylor is looking to fill at least 12 - 14 more spots. This will be small class, so as things clear up, it becomes clearer the prospects and positions that Baylor is keying on.

Over the next several days, BearsIllustrated will look at individual players and what they could bring to the table. These are in no particular order.

The Skinny: Vincent Jr. is one of the most dynamic corners in the state. Baylor was one of the first to offer the PA Memorial product and Vincent Jr. has continued to stay in touch with the Bears. In fact, Coach Art Briles was the first phone call received, by the talented corner, on the first day that coaches could contact prospects, last week. Vincent Jr. is also a current track teammate of Baylor signee, Kameron Martin. Vincent Jr. is a coveted prospect all over the country, as is shown by his 25 + offers, but he doesn't seem in a rush to narrow things down as of yet. Baylor is certainly in a good position here and will likely get a visit from the talented corner, this spring.

Scout.com's Breakdown: Vincent Jr. is a dynamic athlete with playmaking ability from his cornerback spot or in the return game. Sudden athleticism in both short-area burst and agility, as well as top-end speed. Turns and runs with receivers well. Great acceleration from a dead stop. Also possesses coveted trait of accelerating even more while already in flight. Excellent closing speed aided by ability to anticipate the ball. Dangerous in the return game because of aforementioned athletic traits and sudden cutback ability. Will need to build bulk and strength to prepare for next level, but a promising, high major-caliber cornerback talent with plenty of potential. - Gabe Brooks

Baylor's Chances: Warm. Baylor has a great shot to land the services of this top prospect. Baylor has continued to stay in contact with Vincent Jr. and Coach Buckles and Coach Art Briles have continued to build the relationship with him. Baylor is only taking 2 corners, likely, so it is no surprise that Vincent Jr. is at the top of the list of kids Baylor would like to land. This one will likely come down to a late fall commitment, and I expect the Bears to be in it to the very end.
