With home games against Top-10 ranked Oregon and Xavier, their annual game against an SEC opponent (@ Ole Miss) and a trip to the Bahamas to participate in the Battle 4 Atlantis, this will be one of the best non-conference schedules in recent Baylor history.
Baylor will open the season with three home games including Top-10 Oregon and a matchup with Florida Gulf Coast, who took made it to the 2016 NCAA tournament. After the home stand, the Bears will embark to the Bahamas to participate in the Battle 4 Atlantis, one of the premier tournaments over the Holidays. Other participants are Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Old Dominion, St. John’s, VCU and Wichita State.
Coming home, the Bears will host Sam Houston State, before a second Top-10 opponent in Xavier comes to Waco. The Bears will also play at Fort Hood for the second year in a row, taking on D-I school John Brown.
Baylor will wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule against Ole Miss on January 28th, in the 4th annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Baylor is a perfect 3-0 in the challenge with wins over Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Georgia. All thirteen of these games will be televised for the 5th year in a row. Tip-off times and Television coverage for all games are TBA.
