After two straight losses, the Bears look to their toughest test of the season.

The Bears finally gave way to the distractions that had been dragging the team down. After two straight losses, one of those an embarrassing 40 point blowout to TCU, the Bears are looking to pull off a major upset this weekend, when they face the Oklahoma Sooners. While it remains to be seen if the focus has changed back to football, the Bears will try to pull off a big upset in Norman.

As we continue our game preview series, we take a look at 5 keys to the game versus the Oklahoma Sooners.

  1. Start Fast. The Bears will need to get out to a fast start on Saturday. Gaining confidence will be vitally important and will show that the teams focus has returned to just football. The Sooners have one of the worst defenses in the Big 12, so it will be important for Baylor to try and take advantage of that.

  2. Get Ishmael Zamora the ball. I'm not sure why this hasn't been a focus, well yeah I do, but nonetheless, if Baylor wants to have a chance in this game, they will need to get Zamora more involved. Zamora is a playmaker. He is big, athletic and has great hands. With KD Cannon likely getting double teamed, Seth Russell will need to look to Ish for big plays.

  3. Contain Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon. Easier said that done, right? Outside of D'Onta Foreman, the Bears haven't faced two RBs with this much explosiveness and power. The Bears haven't fared well against the run, this season, and with the return of Bravvion Roy, they might be able to at least slow them down a little.

  4. Focus. Again, easier said than done right? The Bears have had an extremely tough past six months and last weekend hit a boiling point. After the game, the coaches apologized to the players and committed themsevles to help turn things around. They committed themselves to the players and told them that all of their focus would turn to football. We will see if that actually happens.

  5. Attack the OU defense. OU is not very good on defense. Outside of their crazy game against Tech, the secondary for OU has been very mediocre. If KD, Ishmael and the other WR's can get on track with Seth Russell, this game could quickly turn in to a shootout. Baylor has nothing to lose, and if they go out and play with reckless abandon, then they may be able to pull the shocker.
