It's been a hectic week for Matt Rhule, as he continues to build his staff and extend offers to recruits.

The coaching staff that is in Waco has hit the ground running. The staff has extended over 20 offers in about 5 days. Their ability to evaluate and offer kids should give Baylor fans some excitement for the future.

Their newest offer should show that ability. Tyler (TX) John Tyler QB, Bryson Smith, was offered by the Baylor coaching staff today. Smith is one of the more underrated dual-threat QBs in the country, but he is certainly well known in the state of Texas.

Smith is an electric playmaker who can hurt you through the air or on the ground. Smith has improved his accuracy but will need to continue to improve mechanically. He has a plus arm and is very accurate with the long ball. If Baylor fans need a comparison, they can look no further than former Heisman winner, Robert Griffin III.

Smith was offered after a phone call between new assistant, Shawn Bell, and former Baylor great and current John Tyler OC, Will Blaylock.

Blaylock says that the Baylor staff liked Bryson at QB, a lot, and felt like he had a higher ceiling than current University of Houston QB, Greg Ward Jr.

BearsIllustrated was able to speak to a source close to Bryson. Follow this link to find insider notes and to see what type of chance the Baylor Bears may have to flip the current UH commitment.
