It's been a busy couple of weeks for Matt Rhule and the Baylor coaching staff. Having come in with only 1 commitment, the Baylor coaches have had to evaluate and offer quickly in order to start building relationships with kids and fill this 2017 class.
This past week showed that this coaching staff is up to the challenge, as the coaching staff extended a whopping 30 offers this past week.
With the dead period in full effect, the coaching staff hasn't been able to have anyone on campus, but they have been able to talk to and offer kids. This is important, as it shows Baylor's interests and allows the coaches to begin to build relationships with players as they had to the finish line that is signing day.
Over the past week, there have been several offers on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Here is a breakdown of positions that have been offered over the past week:
QB - 4
RB - 1
WR - 3
TE - 1
OL - 5
DL - 5
LB - 2
CB - 3
S - 1
ATH - 4
ST - 1
It is obvious that the new coaching staff is putting a premium on athletes in this class.
As the dead period comes to an end, you will begin to see visits being set up. January will be a very important month and BearsIllustrated will be here every step of the way. Stay tuned for updates on those visits and of course, any commitments that break.
