The Bears are coming off of 2 very successful official visitor weekends, in which the Bears saw the 2017 class grow from 7 to 19 in just two weeks. There are still a few pieces out there and with the Bears able to take as many as 30, in this class, we take a look at who is on board and what is left for the Bears.

Skinny: Charlie Brewer was a nice surprise when he flipped from SMU to Baylor. Brewer was one of the most prolific passers in Texas and is fresh off a State Championship at perennial power, Lake Travis (TX) HS. With the addition of grad transfer Anu Solomon, the Bears currently have 3 scholarship QBs on campus. Coach Rhule, and staff, are still searching for one more QB to continue to build depth. The Bears have offered a couple of prospects, so we will see how things shape up as we head to National Signing Day.

Skinny: The Bears were able to also flip Abram Smith, who was a long time Tulsa commit. Abram is a bruising back who has the athletic ability to make players miss in space. Smith has already enrolled at Baylor and is going through strength and conditioning. With Smith in the fold, the Bears are still looking to take 1 more RB in this cycle. Big time athlete, Connor Weddington is on his way to Waco, as of this writing, and could provide immediate depth at the RB position. The Bears are also in the running for NJ RB, John Lovett, who visited the Bears this past weekend.

Skinny: The Bears are likely looking to take one more WR in this cycle. With receivers KD Cannon and Ishmael Zamora leaving for the NFL, the Bears find themselves lacking depth at the receiver position. With Holmes the only receiver that will play inside, the Bears will try to find another receiver to put in the inside as well.
Available spots: 1-2
Skinny: The Bears were able to steal another sleeper out of the Northeast, with Rob Saulin committing to the Bears. Saulin was committed to Temple, when Matt Rhule was there, but decommitted soon after. The staff liked him at DE, but at Baylor, may like him at TE better. It will come down to need for Saulin, as the Bears still have a few targets they are keying on on the DL. Louis Dorsey recently committed to Illinois, after visiting, and BJ Thompson has seen his recruitment sky rocket, after his latest offer from Florida State. Florida State is presumed the favorite, but Baylor will get a chance to make an impression as Thompson is scheduled to be on campus this coming weekend.

Skinny: The Bears entered this recruiting cycle looking for depth and they got it. The Bears were able to secure the pledges of 5 HS offensive lineman, which will help to secure the future with Baylor losing 4 starters after this year. The Bears may look to take a JUCO OL, but its not necessarily needed.
