Byron Nelson LB, Chance Cover, took and unofficial visit to Baylor Wednesday

Tim Watkins speaks to 2019 LB, Chance Cover, after his unnofficial visit to Baylor, Wednesday.

Baylor is in full swing of the 2018 recruiting season, but as is life in college football, the Bears are not wasting time beginning to build relationships with recruits from the 2019 class.

An early visitor to take in the Baylor campus was Trophy Club (TX) Byron Nelson HS LB, Chance Cover.

As a sophomore, Cover established himself as someone to take notice of, after a season in which he tallied 125 tackles, 1 INT and a forced fumble.

With spring in full swing, Cover has taken visits to Baylor, OU and Tulsa, but he plans to take a few more. "I still plan on visiting A&M, Arkansas, Arizona State and possibly Colorado."

On his visit to Baylor, Cover had a chance to meet the staff and take in a new culture that Matt Rhule and staff are building. "The visit was great! I really liked how likable the staff was. They all came up and introduced themselves and really focused on building a relationship with me, instead of winning me on the jerseys and gear."

As is likely the case with most 2019 recruits, Cover is taking things slow but does expect to hear from Baylor soon on an offer.

"I don't have any offers yet, but the coaches told me they wanted to build a strong relationship with me before they looked to offer."

Cover will be one to watch as he moves into his Junior season. Stay with BearsIllustrated as we continue to monitor this prospects recruitment and bring you  the latest breaking news on all 2019 recruits.
