Summer Creek S, Christian Morgan talks Baylor and where things stand in recruiting

Recent Baylor offer and Summer Creek (TX) Safety, Christian Morgan, has 17 offers and has already narrowed his list down to three schools.

“Baylor, Texas Tech, and Northwestern are the three schools I’m looking at right now,” said Morgan.

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound player received his Baylor offer at the beginning of April,  and has been communicating with the coaching staff ever since he attended Baylor’s first Junior Day back in February.

“We just visited around campus,” Morgan said when asked about Baylor’s Junior Day. “I visited with coach snow about what I’m projected to play. They are recruiting me for safety right now, but I’d be willing to play any position that would allow me to touch the field early on. That’s important to me.”

When asked about what stood out to him the most about Baylor, Morgan expressed his excitement about Baylor’s facilities, but that wasn’t what reeled him in.

“Coach Snow had a 20 minute presentation where he showed us film, explained his philosophy and told us about what he looks for and expects in his players,” Morgan explained. “It really shocked me… it shocked my dad too. We really bought in right then. Coach Snow is the real deal and really knows what he’s talking about.”

Morgan will definitely be back to Waco to visit the bears as he frequents Waco often. Both Morgan’s parents are from Waco, and most of his family still lives there.

“I’ll definitely be back in the next month,” said Morgan. “It’s so easy for me to get up there since I can usually just go and stay with my uncle.

Morgan is heading into his senior season and second season at the safety position.

“This season I just want to improve my game at the safety position,” Morgan expressed. “Last year was my first time at safety, so I’m just trying to improve on my game to look better on film.”

Baylor is definitely a top priority for Morgan. Be sure to check back to Bears Illustrated as we keep you updated with the latest recruiting news.
