Jackson Gleeson became the Bears 8th commit of the 2018 class, verballing to the Bears after their annual spring game Saturday afternoon. The 3-star receiver from Mansfield has offers from Missouri, Iowa State, Nebraska, Tulsa, and Lousiana Tech.
At 6-foot-1, Gleeson has tremendous speed, running a 10.7 100-yard dash, and a 21.18 200-yard dash. He runs a 4.4 Baylor offered him on Valentine’s Day this year, emerging as his leader shortly after. Right after, he was offered by Nebraska and Missouri. When asked why he committed today, Gleeson said "It just felt right".
Gleeson was a visitor for the Baylor spring game last weekend, his second visit to Waco. "It was my 2nd visit, but I loved every bit of it," Jackson said when asked about his visit. "The coaches always show so much love, it's a great environment."
During his junior year, Gleeson caught 18 catches for 487 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Mansfield Tigers ran an offense built around 4-star running back Kennedy Brooks, who signed with Oklahoma in February. Expect Gleeson to play a larger role in the Mansfield offensive attack in 2017.
Gleeson was the third commitment of the day for the Baylor Bears, joining corner back Mark Milton and safety JT Woods. Both Milton and Gleeson are tremendous track stars, and two of the fastest 200-meter dash runners in the nation, while Woods runs a sub-11 second 100-meter dash and advanced to the state finals in both the 100 and 110 meter hurdles. . Gleeson ran a 21.14 200m, with Milton at 21.35. Fellow commitment Tyquan Thornton is also up there with a 21.37 time. That is a ton of speed for the Bears.
