The Baylor Bears currently stand at 12 commitments for the 2017 class. That represents over half of the signing class that they will look to bring in at the February 2018 signing day. With their recent success on the recruiting trail for 2017, 7 commitments since April 30th, the Bears are starting to look forward to 2019 and 2020 classes, especially in the DFW area.
The new Baylor staff has shown an aggressiveness in terms of offering the guys that they like quickly. Tight ends coach Joey McGuire, formerly the long-time coach at Cedar Hill High School south of Dallas, has been canvassing the DFW metroplex ever since the final whistle of the spring game. McGuire is very well known, liked, and respected in Dallas-Fort Worth, and has been using that to his advantage for the future classes.
Ranging from Waxahachie to Duncanville and Carthage, McGuire and the Baylor staff are continuing to recruit very athletic, position flexible players for the defensive backfield. Baylor has also started to dip into Houston as well, extending an offer to a 2019 safety from Richmond, TX and a tight end from Dickinson, TX. Here is a list of some of the more recent Baylor offers.
