Super Shawn will become a Super Bear

Shawn Bell (6-1, 185, 4.7) of China Spring, Texas is another Texas quarterback who has not gotten the great publicity that he richly deserves. In his first four games of the season, he has already thrown for 1,184 yards and 14 touchdowns. Another amazing stat is that he has completed 81 passes out of 104 attempts for an incredible 78% completion rate and zero interceptions.

Another amazing stat is that he has completed 81 passes out of 104 attempts for an incredible 78% completion rate and zero interceptions. He is also averaging 40 yards per punt and has great hang-time.

As a junior, Bell completed 138 passes out of 273 trys for 2,303 yards and 14 touchdowns. This should have gotten him on some of the early recruiting lists in Texas, but it didn't, because neither Texas or Texas A&M were recruited him in the Spring.

Bell went to the Baylor Football Camp this past summer and was one of the most impressive players at the camp. He threw with accuracy and he had great velosity on his passes when he needed it. Since China Spring runs the four wide receiver offense, the same offense of Baylor, it was a natural move for him to be recruited by the Bears.

At the camp, Head Coach Kevin Steele offered him a scholarship and he accepted, giving the Bears their first committment.

Bell could break a lot of passing records this year and he may never throw an interception. He could also do the same for the Bears.
