Baylor extends offer to "Big Man"

Trey Bryant is a big young man. Standing 6-3 and 308 (per Bryant), you wouldn't miss him in a crowd. One such Big 12 program obviously noticed the kid as they were the first to extend him an offer - The Baylor Bears...

"That was real exciting," Bryant on receiving a 'ship from Guy Morriss and company said. "I've been getting some letters but I'm going to wait a while, take some visits when it's time and then we'll see what happens."

Bryants junior season ranks right up there with other top 100 DT's. Bryant made 54 tackles (6 for negative yards) and had 7 sacks.

"I've been working hard on increasing those numbers this year," he said. "I went to camps at TCU and SMU to work on my technique and form."

With those kinds of numbers last season at Richarson Berkner High School (9-5A), Bryant was selected to the 1st-team all-city team and made 2nd-team all-district.

Alves: What do you think you need to work on this year to become a more complete player?

Bryant: I need to work on beating the double team and keep working on my quickness of the ball. If I can do that we should do good this year and get back to the playoffs.

The interior lineman is already clocking a 4.98 (40) which is pretty impressive for a kid so large. In the weight-room, Trey has also been impressive: Bench: 330; Squat: 550; Power clean :270
