Tyler Beatty led his team into the 2nd round of the playoffs this past year. Quarterbacking the Pflugerville Panthers, Beatty was asked by TBD.com how he thought his season went.

"It went great, great as a team, but we could have done better. We really pushed to get past that second round of the playoffs."

Beatty reported receiveing offers from Houston, UTEP, and Baylor. He commited to Baylor early, but why Baylor?

"Several reasons. First, Baylor is in the Big Twelve, a large conference. Second, it is close to home, but not too close."

Beatty, just getting back from a visit to Baylor, discussed Baylor's new Offensive Coordinator, Lee Hays, and how his strengths would fit in.

"He [Coach Lee Hays] is a great guy, Baylor couldn't ask for a better guy. He definitely knows what he is doing."

Being a drop-back passer and being able to read the defense is what Beatty feels his biggest strengths are. He discussed how he thinks he will fit into the offensive system.

"I'll fit in good. I can throw the ball. I can escape whenever I need to."

Beatty was clocked at a 4.79 at the Waco combine, so his speed could be a problem for opposing defenses. The Bears seemed to have snagged a good one in Tyler Beatty.
