He towers at 6-5 240. His frame is solid and his feet are quick. His name is Trey Helms (Stuttgart, Ark.) and he plays offensive and defensive line.

"We had a pretty good season. We lost 2 games. We went 10-2, our seniors really stepped up."

Helms was the 3rd leading tackler on his high school squad as a junior and recalls one play that stood out in his memory.

"One of my teammates intercepted a ball, and I knocked someone's helmet off while blocking for him."

Although he threw the shot put and discus last year, this year Helms is choosing not to participate in field events. He is however lifting weights every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and running every Tuesday and Thursday.

"My goal is to get stronger and I want to be State Champions."

Although he currently holds no offers for any D-1 programs, he is hearing from several programs from coast to coast.

So what is it that Helms is looking for as he prepares for life as a college athlete?

"Good academics and athletics. A place where I feel comfortable."

While Helms still waits for his first offer, he continues to work on his quickness, which he feels is his best strength.

We will continue to track Trey Helms, he is definitely one to keep an eye on.
