Schooling at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Latara Darrett is ranked the 12th best guard in the nation. Holding offers from UConn, USC, and UCLA, and others, Darrett chose to play ball for the defending National Champion Lady Bears and star coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson.

An unbelieveable athlete, especially in transition, Darrett was a Street & Smith Preseason All-America. She averaged 19.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.6 steals as junior at IMG including being named Los Angeles Times All-Region Team in 2004.

Darrett will add the ability to shoot from anywhere on the court, something perhaps the Lady Bears coaching staff was wanting more of. Darrett is a big-time player going to a big-time program. All Lady Bear fans should keep track of this super prep hoopster.
