One of the most impressive performers at the Scout.com combine in Waco was that of Rosenberg, Texas offensive lineman Jarvis Jones. Jones of Lamar Consolidated high school was a last minute addition, but he was a big one, literally.
"It was a great experience coming out here and going up against some of the top players in the state," Jones said. "I got a chance to see what level I am on. I thought I did well, but then I see how good Tray Allen was and realize that I could be better."
Jones was a tank. He measured in at 6-foot-6.5, 250 pounds. What is more impressive is that he ran a 5.28 second 40-yard dash and a 5.03 second shuttle time.
"Right now I have offers from Texas A&M, Baylor, Kansas State and Oklahoma State," Jones said. "A lot of other schools are writing me and send me stuff. A lot of SEC schools and schools like Miami and some others."
Jones is expected to be one of the top offensive lineman in the Lone Star State in an extremely deep year at the position.
"I really like Texas A&M and Baylor a lot," Jones said. "I wouldn't mind staying close where my family can come see me and stuff, but I will go wherever. Staying in state does sound good though. I am looking at everyone recruiting me right now, but I might have to put A&M at the top of the list."
