Hard-hitting, ball-hawking, tough-nosed linebacker. Big Antonio Jones.

Standing 6-3 and weighing in at 230 pounds Antonio Jones is a physical specimen. The redshirt freshman from Dallas (Lincoln High School), Texas has done nothing but impress coaches and fans this spring with his ability.

Mike Singletary was once quoted as saying, "Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play. It is as simple as that."

Jones will get his opportunity to play on a Baylor team that was a single game away from making a bowl game last season. Replacing linebackers Jamaal Harper and Colin Allred will not be easy, but Nick Moore and Antonio Jones have seemed to catch on quite nicely.

While most of the attention may be on Baylor's newly installed offense, the play of Antonio Jones will surely grab the attention of many. He may only be a freshman, but Jones has already received recognition of his play by Baylor Head Coach Guy Morriss. Jones was the first player named by Coach Morriss when asked to name which redshirted players would make the biggest impact this season.

The new season is nearly here, and many players will take the field for the first time this year. When Baylor University opens the season at home against TCU, the Baylor Bears will be ready. As for Antonio Jones, hopefully his favorite part of the game is the opportunity to play. Afterall, it worked for one former Baylor linebacker.
