Baylor Baseball Tournament Bound

Last year the Baylor Bears made it through the brackets on their way to the College World Series. With the words, "The Bears are going to Omaha!" on everyone's mind, Baylor will try to at least duplicate last year's efforts.

It was an up and down season for Steve Smith and the Baylor Bears' baseball team. They won important games when they needed to, yet seemed to be unable to put away the teams that should not have been so difficult. It is time to clean the slate.

Pitcher Cory VanAllen has been here before. He played a vital role in the team's success last year on the way to Omaha, and he has been just as important this year. Any fan will tell you that baseball starts with pitching. Baylor baseball is no different. Ryan LaMotta and Cory VanAllen will most certainly take the charge and need to let their experience do the talking during regional games.

The Baylor Bears were slotted as the #3 seed and will head to Houston. Rice is hosting the regional and is also the bracket's #1 seed. Baylor is in the same bracket as Prairie View and Arizona State University, and will face the Sun Devils from Arizona State in their first game.
