Cedar Hill Lineman Building Steam

The group of D-1 prospects this year at Cedar Hill continues to draw interest from a range of colleges. Come take a look inside at BearsIllustrated.com to see the latest on offensive lineman John Jones, including whether he truly wants to continue playing with his current teammates at the next level.

With a plethora of talent coming from the Metroplex high school of Cedar Hill, John Jones is one of many talented players on the Longhorn football team. With early offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Houston, Tulane, UCF, Arizona, UTEP, Rice, Kansas and Arkansas, Jones seems to have one on top for the time being. "If I had to pick a favorite it would have to be Baylor, they have been my favorite for a while now, but really I'm wide open." He says.

With many of his current teammates all receiving offers from just about the same schools there has been talk about going to the same school. "We all joke around about going to the same school and most of us have the same offers. Sometimes we say that it would be cool if all of us ended up going to the same school, like Baylor or something."

But when it comes to picking a school the Cedar Hill Lineman knows what he's looking for. "I'm looking for a good o-line coach , schools with good academics are everywhere, but they have to be close to home, and I want some playing time, I don't want to sit on the bench until my senior season."

The Longhorns had there Spring Game last Saturday. "The Spring Game was yesterday,(Saturday) and the black team won 14-7 I was on the black team." The Longhorns are looking to win the state championship this upcoming season, everybody is expecting them to go far with the level of talent they have returning and they are hungrier after their first round loss to Allen last season.
