Billy Chavis: Baylor Leading?

Recently ranked as one of the nation's best tight ends by, Billy Chavis is drawing high praises by recruiting analysts and coaches alike. His athletic ability allows him to play almost anywhere on the field, and his size and speed are attributes that cannot go unnoticed. So, where does Baylor stand? Come inside to find out.

He benches 230, squats, 380, and power cleans 240; he towers at 6-5/225. Recently he was ranked one of the nation's top tight ends by, and there is no denying that he is a great athlete. His name is Billy Chavis.

With more scolarship offers than you can count on your hands, Billy Chavis, a 4-star recruit by, has narrowed his list to 6 schools. Baylor, Miami, OSU, Kansas State, Missouri, and Arizona have made his final list. However, Chavis explains the situation in greater detail.

"Miami is my number one. I am waiting on an offer from them. If they offer, I will probably commit to them."

"If I had to commit today, because I am unsure of my Miami offer, I would commit to Baylor."

Chavis explains that he has talked with several of the Baylor coaches and has built a good relationship with each one. Being recruited mostly as a tight end/wide receiver, Chavis talks about the possible switch to defense.

"Baylor told me that the best possibility for me to play as a freshman would be to play safety. It doesn't matter to me if I play defense or offense."

Chavis believes his athletic ability and his ability to play most every position is his biggest strength on the football field, and he hopes to make a commitment soon.

"I want to commit before the season starts. Maybe around August 1st, around there."
