BearsIllustrated's Pre-Season All Big 12 Team

The season is fast approaching. With schools around the Big 12 set to begin practices, is pleased to bring you our selections for the BIG 12 Pre-Season All Big 12 Team. In PART I of the series, we unveil the Pre-Season All Big 12 1st Team Offense.

Zac Taylor

Nebraska's Zac Taylor brings another year of experience into the Cornhusker's pass-attack offense. Last year, Taylor threw for over 2600 yards and 19 touchdowns in 12 games. His completion percentage was 55% while he averaged nearly 220 yards per contest.

Running Back

Adrian Peterson

In is no surprise that Adrian Peterson is on the list with his mix of speed and power. Last year, in only his sophomore year, Peterson ran for over 1100 yards averaging over a 100 yards a game. Scoring 14 touchdowns on the season, Peterson averaged 5 yards every time he touched the ball. Peterson played in 11 games last year, and will look to improve his numbers during his junior campaign.

Jamaal Charles

With a lot of good running backs in the Big 12, it appears that Jamaal Charles is in store for a great season. The Longhorns dismissed Ramonce Taylor from their squad, thus opening the door for the talented sophomore. As a freshman last year, Charles rushed for nearly 900 yards sporting a 7.4 yards per carry average. Charles' 11 touchdowns proved that he has a nose for the endzone.

Offensive Line

Justin Blalock

Kasey Studdard

Manuel Ramirez

Mark Fenton

Babalola, Yemi

Martin Rucker

Martin Rucker returns to the Tigers' roster poised to improve upon his breakout season last year. The 6-5 tight end recorded 47 receptions for 567 yards.

It's hard not to mention all Texas Tech receivers for this category, but Joel Filani will look to lead the Red Raiders air attack once more. Although a case could be made for Jarrett Hicks, we feel it is Filani who deserves the honor. Filani hauled in 68 receptions last year for 1048 yards. As a junior, the Tech receiver scored 8 touchdowns and averaged over 16 yards per reception.

Todd Blythe

Blythe has a very impressive sophomore year as he had 51 receptions for 1000 yards. He caught 9 touchdown passes and averaged nearly 2o yards per catch.

Dominique Zeigler

Zeigler enters his senior season at Baylor that has opened things up on the offensive side of the ball. Zeigler caught 47 passes for nearly 600 yards as a junior. He found the endzone 5 times and sported a 12 yard average per reception. With the spread offense in place, Zeigler is primed to have huge numbers his senior year.
