Does Baylor Get 1st Commit of 2008?

The Baylor Bears received commitments from several of the state's top players in the 2007 class. The Bears now have started bringing them in for 2008. Come inside to get the story.

Mike Williams, a 6-2 175 4.4 cornerback from Beaumont Westbrook High School was one of the lucky few to get an early offer from Baylor University. With fellow teammates Jacody Coleman and Billy Chavis giving their pledges to Guy Morriss and the Bears as part of the 2007 class, Mike Williams will be the first commit to make the call to the Bears for 2008.

Why Baylor?

"I went to the game, and I just like everything they do. The coaches, the players, everything. I will commit sometime this week."

Williams pledge to Baylor comes shortly after the Bears got commitments from top 2007 recruits Jacody Coleman and Billy Chavis. Did that have an impact in Williams' decision?

"We all play on the defensive side of the ball, and they are good leaders."

Mike Williams will look to play cornerback for the Bears, a position coached by talented defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff.
