Robert Griffin is Baylor Bound

He is ranked the 19th best quarterback in the nation. With blazing speed and standing 6-3 200, Robert Griffin is one of the most highly touted quarterbacks in the lone star state. has learned that Griffin has decided to continue his football career at Baylor University.

Robert Griffin will be suiting up for the Baylor Bears next season. Ranked the 19th best quarterback in the nation by, Griffin possesses the size and speed that make him a valuable commodity on the football field.

As a junior, Griffin completed 142-of-236 passes for 1,994 yards with 21 TDs and 7 interceptions leading the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs to the Class 4A Division I state title game. His post season honors included a selection to the District 16-4A first team.

Griffin, one of the top sprinters in the nation, also received the Gatorade Texas Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year award after setting state records in both the 110-meter (13.55 seconds, [with a personal best of 13.3]) and the 300-meter (35.33 seconds) hurdles. His personal best time in the 400-m is a scorching 46.9.

According to Robert Griffin's father, Robert Griffin Sr., his son decided to follow new Baylor Bears head football coach to Baylor.

"Baylor was one of his top 2 schools. We couldn't get what we wanted from the old regime at Baylor, so Robert decided to go to Houston because of Coach Art Briles."

"Robert wanted to go to school at Baylor, and when Baylor hired Coach Briles as their new football coach we thought it would be a good fit."

Robert Griffin is currently leading his team through the Texas high school playoffs and has a showdown against Wolfforth Frienship this Saturday .

Griffin holds offers from Baylor, Houston, Stanford, Tennessee, and Tulsa.
