Louisiana CB Has Interest In Baylor

Standing 5-11 187, this athlete has offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Baylor, Texas Southern, and Navy. With a couple of visits planned for the next few weeks, he took time out of his busy schedule to answer some questions on what his top schools are, his future plans, and when a decision is likely to come.

The world of recruiting is an ever-changing process. Just ask Michael Collins, a highly recruited athlete out of Southern Lab in Louisiana. Collins, an All-Distric selection, reports offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Baylor, Texas Southern, and Navy. He explains that each one has its positives:

"At Navy, they run an offense like I like. It is a single back, and I like that. They have a new coach, but I have been in contact with Navy."

"Tennessee is recruiting me at cornerback. They tell me that I can come in and play as a freshman. I like that and they are probably at the top of my list right now."

"Texas Southern is recruiting me as a slot receiver. They are rebuilding a program there, so they are trying to get players from everywhere. Coach Spears came down here and said they want me."

"Georgia is recruiting me as a running back. I like the atmosphere and all the fan support they give to the team. I also like when they wear the black uniforms."

"Baylor is in Texas and I have family there. They will be close and I don't want my family too far where they will have to get on a plane and fly from Lousiana someplace. I go on a visit there in a couple of weeks."

Collins explains that he will visit Texas Southern on the 26th of January and is looking forward to his trip to Texas. Additionally, Collins explains that he has been to the Baylor campus before.

"Baylor is a good place. They showed me a good time. They got new coaches, and I thought I would be on the bottom of the list. But the coaches looked at tape, and I am on the top of their list."

The versatile athlete is looking for a school with good academics, a college not too far from home, and a place where fans love college football. Additionally, Collins explains that if he could pick he would choose to play wide receiver, but understands that at the next level they could switch you to the other side of the ball.

Collins discusses his timeline for making his final decision.

"I will probably wait until signing day. But if a coach comes in here and I like it, I just may commit on the spot. Right then and there."
