At 6-4 220, Houston Lamar tight end, Eric Lair, opened the eyes of plenty of college coaches around the country with his speed, size, and his abilit yto stretch the field. He committed to Minnesota early in the process, but since then has received plenty of interest. Schools such as Houston, Baylor, Nebraska, and Oklahoma State have tried to get in late on the east Texas prospect, but Lair explains that there is only one school that remains.

"I am committed to Minnesota. I like the coaches, and I like the offense. They have already told me where they are going to use me. When I get there, I will be number two on the depth chart."

Lair took late visits to Baylor and to Houston, deciding not to take trips to Nebraska or Oklahoma State. Come Wednesday, national signing day, Lair expects to be a part of the Minnesota football program.

"I will be able to stretch the field and the coaches have already decided how they are going to use me, even before I came in."
