Stephen Warren is a big, strong-armed quarterback who plays high school football at Abilene High School. He recently participated at the Baylor mini-camp, and BearsIllustrated.com caught up with him to get the latest on his recruitment.
He stands 6-2 200, and Abilene High School quarterback Stephen Warren
is making a name fo himself this summer. His arm strength is opening eyes, and recently received his first offer from Montana State. BearsIllustrated.com caught up with Warren to get his take on the camp, his recruitment, and his future plans.
"I thought I did alright at the camp today. It was a nice organized camp for this many people. Hopefully it comes out good."
Warren explains that along with the Baylor camp, he has also participated in camps at Texas Tech, New Mexico State, Texas State, and many others. The talented signal-caller explains that along with his lone scholarship offer, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, and New Mexico keep in touch most often and could be on the verge of offering him a scholarship.
While Warren demonstrated good arm strength at the camp, he feels that the best part of his game is his pocket presence.
"I am more of a pocket guy. I stay in the pocket, and I make the throw, and I will get hit. I am not that big of a scrambler or runner, I just wait until they are open and throw it to them."
"It is a unique situation. I get coached both on the field and at home. Other than that it is a good deal, I like it. I like the way he coaches, and i believe in how he coaches."
While the summer may be drawing to a close, the recruiting season is still in full swing. Warren expects to take his time and decide when the time is right. He explains some of the things he is looking for.
"I am just looking for playing time. I just want to get somewhere where I can play the sport I love."
