Baylor Cruises To Easy Victory; 85-43

The Baylor Bears took care of business on Saturday afternoon defeating the Southern Jaguars, 85-43. Baylor freshman, Quincy Acy, forward broke a Big 12 record for consecutive shots made.

The Baylor Bears took care of business on Saturday afternoon defeating the Southern Jaguars, 85-43. The Baylor Bears move their record to 3-0 on the season.

Baylor freshman forward, Quincy Acy, led all scorers with 15 points on the day. Acy also sets a Big 12 record for consecutive field goals made. Acy went 5-5 for the game, and is now a perfect 18-18 on the season from the field. The talented freshman also hauled in 5 rebounds and blocked two shots. Baylor senior guard Henry Dugat had the most complete game of any player on the floor, missing a triple-double by one assist. On the day, Dugat scored 13 points, had 10 rebounds, and had 9 assists.

Curtis Jerrells, Baylor's starting point guard, turned up the intensity on defense recording 5 steals against the Jaguars. Jerrells dropped in 13 points in his 32 minutes of action. Fellow guard Lacedarius Dunn scored in double digits with 12 points as did forward Kevin Rogers who scored 13 in 25 minutes of action. Senior center Mamadou Diene recorded 7 points and 3 blocks in 16 minutes of action. 3 players finished with 2 points a piece, Anothny Jones, Delbert Simpson, and Josh Lomers all got on the board in Baylor's blowout victory. Sixth man Fred Ellis scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes on the floor.

The Bears next face Jacksonville on Monday night in Waco, before heading to Anaheim for the 76 Classic on Thursday.
