Baylor Gets Big Commitment

Recently, the Baylor Bears football staff saw the fruits of their labor when they received a big commitment from a big time player. He is a 4 star athlete, and ranked #30 in the country at his position. Come inside to see who it is and what he had to say.

4 star wide receivers are not easy to find. Being ranked #30 in the nation at your position is also quite a feat. Both are characteristics that the newest Baylor Bears commitment possesses. Originally an Oklahoma Sooners commitment, Darius Jones has decided that he wants to be a Baylor Bear.

"I guess I feel more at home playing for the Bears. I have friends down there, and the coaches made me feel welcomed. They are really nice, and I know they will take care of me."

Jones explained that he felt the nucleus of players currently at Baylor helped make his decision easier.

"Robert [Griffin] is an outstanding player. He is a big part of that. We have Robert, Kendall [Wright], and some other guys. We can turn this thing around."

The talented receiver provided that he recently visited the campus, and he enjoyed the new football facilities that Baylor has on campus. Jones also explained that Coach Clements recruited him the hardest, and provided that he built a good relationship with the Baylor coach.

"He is a very, very nice guy. He is easy to talk to."

Jones, a 4 star commitment out of Marshall, Texas is ranked 30th nationally at wide receiver. The 5-11 175 pound Jones holds offers from Oklahoma, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and many more. Originally committed to the Sooners, Jones seems certain that come signing day he will be signing with Baylor.

"There is no doubt in my mind."
