Baylor Gets Pledge From Talented Athlete

The Baylor Bears received good news on Monday evening. Hours after Baylor got a commitment from Lamar wide receiver Josh Gordon, Art Briles and staff received another commitment from a very talented athlete. Come inside to read more about Baylor's newest commitment.

At 6'5" 230, Jarod Monk quarterbacked Wylie High School to the State Championship game. In college he will play the tight end position. Up until today, the school to win Monk's services was between TCU and Baylor. Monk informed tonight that he committed to the Baylor Bears.

Holding offers from Baylor, TCU, Kansas State, and UTEP, the talented Wylie athlete previously told that he planned on getting a business degree and that Baylor afforded him a good opportunity to do just that.

As it applies to the gridiron, Monk told, in an earlier interview, that he felt Baylor had "one of the best coaching staffs in the nation."

Ranked the #121 QB in the country, Monk will make the change to tight end, a position he feels affords him the best opportunity to make it to the next level.

Stay tuned to for all the latest.
