While John Walker has garnered interest from schools such as Kansas State, Colorado State, and Syracuse, his favorite schools are far closer to his hometown.
In an interview with BearsIllustrated.com, Walker expressed an interest in both Baylor and Texas A&M. While either school could land the Junior linebacking prospect, Walker's interest in Baylor is especially high.
"I think they're going to be a team to watch next year in the Big 12. They have a nice young quarterback that I like. I just see them on the rise. They're going to give a lot of people trouble next year."
Walker recently attended Baylor's annual Junior Day where he connected with the coaching staff.
"I loved the coaching staff. They seem really ready for the next year. They want to win and are ready to do whatever it takes to win."
Walker looks to be ready to commit as soon as he receives an offer he likes. He had this to say about when he plans to make his decision.
"It just really depends on who offers. If Baylor or A&M offers then I'd strongly consider going ahead and signing with them early."
