Brown Seeing Green And Gold

Wide receiver prospect Chris Brown likes what he sees in a future at Baylor. But his interest in the Bears stems from the challenge, not the promise of playing for a Big XII school. Read more inside.

While Chris Brown has no firm offers for now, the talent he demonstrates playing for Pittsburg (TX) High School has created plenty of interest in acquiring his services.

Brown has received letters from several schools but for now the brunt of the activity surrounding him has been from Baylor and Tulsa University. That doesn't mean he is without opinion on where he would prefer to end up though.

"I like Baylor. I like everyone up there. They're friendly. I just like the environment."

Chris was especially impressed by the Bears' new addition during his recent trip to Waco.

"The new facilities were really good. I had never seen anything like it."

The coaches also did their part to get Brown on board with the promise that every job is open for competition.

"They were cool. They said if I came in to work I could play. If I didnt I couldn't. No one has a guaranteed spot."

With Baylor sitting comfortably in the top spot with Brown, a commitment is possible if the Bears were to offer. For now though, he says he isn't in any hurry.

"If anyone else calls I'll consider them. I'm just going to wait for now though."
