11-1 Baylor To Host 8-6 Morgan State

The Baylor Bears (11-1) ride a 7 game winning streak as they prepare for their final non-conference game against the Morgan State Bears (8-6).

Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears (11-1) host the Morgan State Bears (8-6) on Wednesday night in the Ferrell Center. Morgan State, of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, is only the 2nd MEAC team Baylor has faced this season, and the first time these two teams have met. The Baylor Bears are 7-0 against members of the MEAC in the school‘s history.

Baylor's current 7 game winning streak is the sixth longest in school history, and the longest since winning 12 straight in 2000-01. Earlier this week, Baylor junior forward Epke Udoh, and Baylor junior guard Lacedarius Dunn were recognized with Big 12 honors. Udoh was named Co-Big 12 Rookie of the Week, and Dunn was named Co-Big 12 player of the week.

The Bears are led in scoring by junior sharp shooter Lacedarius Dunn and senior point guard Tweety Carter. Dunn, who averages 17.8 points per game, and Carter, who averages 16.4 points a game are joined by junior forward Epke Udoh who brings a strong defensive presence to Scott Drew's squad. On the season, Udoh has tallied 49 blocks, averages 11 rebounds per game, and contributes 13.8 points per contest.



The Morgan State Bears are the defending 2009 MEAC champions and have won 3 of its last 5 games. Morgan State is led by guard Reggie Holmes who averages 23.8 points per game, and a rebounding machine in Kevin Thompson, who averages 12.8 boards per contest. Morgan State picked up a victory earlier this season against a common opponent of the Baylor Bears, the Arkansas Razorbacks, 97-94.

Baylor currently leads the nation in rebounding margin (+11.6), and has improved its rebounding statistics by 7.8 rebounds per game from this point last season, and Baylor has grabbed 50-plus rebounds 3 times this season, while not allowing any of their opponents to tally over 40 rebounds this season.

Tip-off for the game is 7:00 p.m. in the Ferrell Center on the campus of Baylor University.
