The month of January is always an interesting time for recruiting, and the Baylor Bears have done their part to keep the reputation alive gaining their third commitment of the weekend. This time the commitment comes in the form of 6'4" defensive end Clarence Lee.
Lee, who originally committed to the University of Houston, decided the Big 12 is the place where he wants to showcase his talent. Lee is a 3 star prospect who previously had offers from a few other Big 12 teams including Kansas State and Missouri."I was committed to the University of Houston, but now I am committed to Baylor University," said Lee.
Previously Lee's high school coach Scott Hale told Scout.com this about the Big 12 prospect:
"Well he can be a true edge guy. He has really good length on him, so he can stretch out the field for the linebackers. He is really quick and agile. If and when he gets his strength up to be able to better meet people head on, he will be a complete package. He has the frame and tools to be very special."Lee explains that he felt the Bears made him their top priority on his visit.
"They made me their number one priority, and that showed me that they really wanted me to be part of their football team," Lee said after his visit to the Baylor campus.
The 3 star prospect talks about how soild his commitment to the Baylor program is.
"I am solid. I talked to a few other recruits that were there this weekend, and after talking to Coach Young, he got me feeling really good. So, that's where I am going to be."
Lee provides that he enjoyed his visit at Baylor, and he also enjoyed discussing football with Baylor head coach Art Briles.
"From my little time knowing him, I like him already. He is down to earth, he is all about business, but, at the same time, he is laid back, calm, and cool. He is just a down to earth guy."
Lee expects to play defensive end for the Bears, and the Jefferson High School star talks about his presence on the football field.
"You never know where I am going to line up. I am a versatile player. I may line up at defensive end one minute, then I will switch to linebacker and come up the gut, and then I can drop back and play a little coverage. I can be everywhere. Just make plays and win football games."
The 6-4 207 Lee currently plays basketball for Jefferson High School, and explains he will be signing with Baylor on National Signing Day on February 3rd.
