Baylor Bears Hook #6 'Horns, 80-77

The Baylor Bears defeated the #6 Texas Longhorns in Austin Saturday, 80-77. The Bears were led by senior guard Tweety Carter.

The Baylor Bears did something that they have not done since 1998. Beat the Texas Longhorns in Austin. After Baylor's victory on Saturday, the Baylor men's basketball team now holds a 2 game winning streak against its conference foe. The Bears beat #6 Texas 80-77 in Austin on Saturday.

The Baylor Bears were led by senior guard Tweety Carter who scored 27 points on the night. Carter played 43 minutes on Saturday, and finished the night 10-12 from the charity stripe in the winning effort. Carter was helped by freshman guard A.J. Walton who scored 14 points, but more importantly recorded 6 steals on the night. Production from Baylor bigman Epke Udoh was held in check in regulation, but the junior forward woke up in overtime scoring 6 points before fouling out in the extra period. Baylor sophomore guard Anthony Jones, whose shot with 0.3 seconds in regulation forced the game into overtime, finished with 7 points and 11 rebounds on the night.

Baylor now moves to 16-4 overall and 3-3 in the Big 12. Texas falls to 18-3 overall, and 4-2 in conference.

Baylor hosts Iowa State on Wednesday night.
