Broncos Host Seattle in 2010 Home Opener

The road-weary Bronco soccer team finally gets to play a home match after six road contests. Boise State hosts Seattle University this Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Boas Soccer Complex in Boise.

The defending Western Athletic Conference Champion Boise State soccer team has struggled in the early going this season and looks to get untracked in their home opener this Sunday against Seattle University.

Coach Steve Lucas's Lady Broncos have been on the road for their first six matches, in which they managed just a 2-4 record. The Broncos defeated Colorado College and Portland State, while falling to Oregon, Air Force, Idaho State and Utah Valley. Seattle is 4-2 this season and is ranked ninth in the region by the National Soccer Coaches Association. Seattle returns eight starters from last season's team. Julie Woodward is in her 14th season as head coach with a sparkling 186-69-23 career record. Boise State is hoping to exact revenge on the Redhawks, who won 1-0 last season in Seattle.

Sunday's match is at 1 p.m. Mountain time at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Complex on South Oakland Avenue in Boise. There will be live internet coverage of the contest at www.broncosports.com.
