Moore Named O'Brien Quarterback of the Week

Bronco quarterback Kellen Moore was honored today as the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week. Moore helped Boise State down Virginia Tech Monday 33-30.

Boise State junior quarterback Kellen Moore was named the O'Brien Quarterback of the Week today after leading #3 Boise State to a 33-30 win over #10 Virginia Tech Monday night in Landover, Maryland.

Moore completed 23-of-38 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the Bronco win, guiding the team to the winning touchdown with 1:09 left to play.

The O'Brien Quarterback of the Week Award is voted on during each of the first eight weeks of the season by a subset of The O'Brien National Selection Committee. The Selection Committee is also involved in picking a winner for the 2010 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. Moore was a semifinalist for the award last season when he led the Broncos to a perfect 14-0 campaign and a 17-10 win over #3 TCU in the Fiesta Bowl. Semifinalists for this year's award will be announced October 25, with finalists chosen November 22. The winner of the O'Brien Award will be named on December 9.

Fans can cast their vote once daily at Fan vote counts for five percent during each round of the process. Other nominees for this week's O'Brien Quarterback of the Week Award were: Dominique Davis (East Carolina), Andrew Luck (Stanford), Cam Newton (Auburn), Terrelle Pryor (Ohio State), Denard Robinson (Michigan) and T.J. Yates (North Carolina).
