Broncos Sweep Roger Curran Invitational

The Boise State cross country teams got off to a good start with wins yesterday at the Roger Curran Invitational in Nampa. Individually, Drew O'donoghue-McDonald and Sawyer Bosch were 1-2 and Emma Bates took second in the women's competition.

Coach Brad Wick's Boise State cross country teams got off to a solid start yesterday by sweeping the men's and women's titles at the Third Annual Roger Curran Invitational in Nampa. 

The Bronco men finished with 25 points, outdistancing the College of Idaho (51 points) and Northwest Nazarene with 68.  The Lady Broncos had 34 points to edge second-place C of I (43 points) and Eastern Oregon with 74.

Boise State freshman Drew O'donoghue-McDonald made an immediate impact by winning the six-kilometer race with a time of 18:15.49.  Senior Sawyer Bosch was second (18:18.06) while senior transfer Brad Bogden was fifth (18:30.50). 

Freshman Emma Bates paced the Bronco women with a second-place finish over four-kilometers.  Bates finished the course in 13:43.71 with fellow freshmen Marisa VanderMalle and Tessa Murray placing right behind in fifth (14:00.55) and sixth (14:03.22), respectively. 

Eastern Oregon sophomore Karlee Coffey was the overall women's course champion, winning the 68-person race in a time of 13:36.29.

The Broncos continue their season in two weeks when the split up to compete in two meets.  Boise State will participate in the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul , Minnesota , while most of the team will race in the Bob Firman Invitational at Eagle Island State Park .
