There truly is no place like home.

Ailing from a 2-4 road experience, Boise State returned to Boise and scored a 2-0 win over Seattle in their home opener this afternoon.  As if home cooking and their own beds weren't enough, a regular season record crowd of 967 fans cheered the Broncos on at Boas Soccer Complex.  Seattle came into the game as the #9 team in the region.

Freshman Katy Oehring and Ashley Walsh booted goals for the Broncos and Liz Ruiz sparkled in goal with a shutout and five saves.  Senior Shannon Saxton sent a pass from the left wing just outside the Redhawk penalty box.  Oehring charged in and got to the ball before Seattle keeper Madison Goverde and sent the ball by her into the open net.  Saxton continued to pad her career assists record with her 19th.  With one minute remaining in the contest, Chelsea Robinson sent a leftside corner kick high into the box.  The Redhawks cleared it, but straight to Walsh who drove the ball past everyone from 20 yards out.

The Broncos head to Missoula next weekend for the Montana Invitational, where they will take on host Montana and New Mexico .
