Liberty HS RB Jay Ajayi (Frisco, TX) became Boise State's eighth verbal commitment for the 2011 class last month and has gotten off to a fast start through the first two games of his senior season. The future Bronco will be visiting The Blue for the home opener next week in what looks to be the biggest recruiting weekend of the year. What are his thoughts on that upcoming visit? "I'm going to the Oregon State game. I just set that up," he said. "It'll be cool since I'll be able to see the atmosphere and more of the team. I'm looking forward to seeing an actual game at Bronco Stadium and seeing some of the other commits will be cool too," he added.

The talented RB has kept in contact with the Boise State staff since he committed early last month. "I called Coach B (Bhonapha) and Coach Petersen a couple days ago," he stated. "They both told me to just keep my head on straight and to keep working hard."

To say that Ajayi has been "working hard" would be an understatement. He has yet to even play in the second half of a game this season and has racked up 393 yards and 10 TDs on just 29 carries. Liberty is currently 2-0 and their goal of winning a district title is certainly within reach. "First thing, my line has been blocking great. I just wanted to make a statement," he said. "Our goal is to win district since we didn't do it last year. Personally, I'm looking to go for 2,000 yards this year. I got close last year." Up next for the Redhawks is Royse City in what could be another huge game for Ajayi as Royse City is currently 0-3 this season.

Jay watched the Bronco RBs work their magic last Monday night and came away impressed. "Man, my eyes were glued to the screen," Ajayi said. "I was so excited to see them come out with the win. Doug (Martin) and DJ (Harper) were running downhill. They were all successful and it was nice to see that."

Jay Ajayi (6'0, 200, 4.5) committed to Boise State over offers from Minnesota, Wyoming, New Mexico State, and Tulane.
