Whittier Christian HS DT Jeff Worthy (La Habra, CA) will be taking his official visit to The Blue this weekend as he will watch the Broncos battle the Beavers. He recently suffered a knee injury on the first play of a scrimmage and he's hoping to make his season debut this Friday. How is his knee progressing? "I feel 100% now," he said. "I tore my meniscus on the first play of our scrimmage. Basically, they snapped the ball, I went to plant since I was being double-teamed, and my knee buckled. I had surgery about five days after it happened and I'll find out on Wednesday if I'm cleared to play on Friday," he added.

His team has performed will in his absence. The Heralds are currently 3-0 and his teammates jokingly told him that he can go on up to Boise since they no longer need him. "They're telling me that they no longer need me and that I should go on up to Boise," Worthy said. "We're not a one player team. Our QB has done a phenomenal job and we've worked around injuries. I feel we have a good chance to go all the way this year."

Jeff (6'4, 270) and his parents will head to Boise on Saturday morning. ESPN College GameDay will be in town and the future Bronco is looking forward to the visit. "I leave on Saturday morning at around 7 am," he stated. "It's going to be a lot of fun with College GameDay there. My parents are really looking forward to it. This is a big deal for them."

One of the biggest selling points for the talented DT was knowing that his D-line Coach would also be his Defensive Coordinator. "Having my D-line Coach as my D-coordinator is huge for me. Coach K is real laid back and likes to joke around a lot," he said. "He also has a serious side to him and knows what to expect from his players. I'm ready to go up there and be coached up by him," he added.

Jeff Worthy committed to Boise State over offers from UCLA, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, Arizona State, Washington State, and others. He is also continuing his stellar work in the classroom as he currently has all A's and one B.
