Liberty HS RB Jay Ajayi (Frisco, TX) took his official visit to Boise State last weekend as he watched the Broncos open the 2010 home schedule with a thrilling 37-24 victory over Oregon State. By all accounts, the visit was everything the future Bronco expected and more. "The visit was awesome," he said. "I got to meet all the other committed recruits that were there and that was cool. The whole town just came alive on game day. To be able to see the players up close and personal was cool too," he added.

The talented RB brought his dad along on the trip and he also came away impressed. "I came with my father. He didn't know much before, but he really caught fire with it as well," he stated. "I could tell he was excited and knows I'm at a place where I can succeed."

Bronco fans did their part as they created an electric atmosphere and that didn't go unnoticed by the recruits in attendance. "It was awesome to see all the fans and tailgaters," Ajayi said. "We would all do the Boise....State chant and it really shows just how much their fans love the team. It seemed like all the fans knew me and that was cool too. They do research on their recruits."

All the current Boise State commits gelled as a group and their goal is to make this the best Bronco recruiting class ever. "We all gelled. I know we can succeed as a group," he said. "All of us wanted to show Corey (Waller) and Jalen (Jefferson) what it's all about. They seemed to really enjoy themselves. I know they're great athletes and would be great additions to our recruiting class."

It's back to the gridiron for Jay (6'0, 200, 4.5) and his teammates on Friday night. The Liberty Redhawks are 4-0 on the season and they're inching closer to their goal of a district title. Ajayi has been the workhorse for the Redhawk offense and has already racked up 813 yards and 14 TDs. It appears he will easily surpass his personal goal of 2,000 yards, but he credits his O-line for allowing him to get off to such a great start. "I always set the bar high. I set big goals for myself this season," he said. "My OL has blocked great and I worked hard this off-season. I'm not surprised at the results," he added.
