Pettis is 1 TD Catch From #21 in NCAA History

Although Boise State receiver Austin Pettis did not score last night in the Broncos' 59-0 win over New Mexico State, he is tied for #25 in NCAA history with 33 career touchdown receptions. If Pettis can get one more TD catch, he will move into a tie for #21 all-time and can hit #3 with 14 TD catches.

 

Austin Pettis of Boise State can move into a tie for #21 in NCAA college football history with one more touchdown reception.  

Pettis was kept out of the end zone by New Mexico State last night in Boise State 's 59-0 win over the Aggies in Las Cruces , New Mexico .  The senior star has 33 career TD catches, currently tied with Ibn Green of Louisville (1996-1999) and Jordan Shipley of Texas (2006-2009) for #25.  Pettis had six touchdown receptions in his freshman season, nine in 2008, a Boise State record 14 last fall and four so far this season.   

Jarret Dillard of Rice smashed the all-time mark in 2008 with his 60th career touchdown catch to easily top Louisiana Tech's Troy Edwards, who had held the record for ten years with 50.  It should be noted that Edwards accumulated his statistics in just three years in Ruston .  Darius Watts of Marshall (2000-2003) finished with 47.
